Academic Language Week 14 - Cloning

The context of Human cloning could be very dangerous. For one, human cloning could cause some kinds of side effects such as health problems or maybe some deformation. Human cloning can also create or cause illegal problems. Not only can it create a serious amount of problems, but it should be evaluated as a pointless project and it can be very dangerous and change people for worse. People should not try to equate themselves for it is most likely a dangerous project.

Dragons Den 7: Would You Rather?

I would rather get caught singing in the mirror, rather than getting caught spying on my crush. I would rather get caught singing, because I honestly do think that it's much less embarrasing than getting caught by my crush spying on them. Both things have happend to me and I really do think it was harder to explain to my crush what I was doing staring at them. It's really awkward to try and explain, on the other hand singing in front of the mirror isn't all that bad, because thats also happend to me, and I will just get some kind of compliment like "oh you sing really good Chels!!". So yes I much rather get caught singing in front of the mirror.

Response to Priester's Syllabus

I feel like I’m kind of already adapted to Ms. Priester’s environment, because I’ve had her since freshmen year so it shouldn’t be any different. I’m kind of already familiar with the rules, tardy policies, absences, and make-up work. I had trouble last year so I have to retake English 10 my junior year which I don’t mind. I just hope that this year I won’t be to shy to ask questions or get help. I am really familiar with the way Ms. Priester’s classroom works so I don’t have much questions I’m pretty much aware of everything. I also think Ms. Priester expects me to know her rules and expectations since I’ve been in her classroom since freshman year. I’m ready to try English 10 again!

"Contents of the Dead Man's Pocket" Before You Read: Paralyzed by Fear

A time that I was paralyzed by fear was around the time I was placed into the system. I was twelve years old and my dad was really upset with me. To make matters worse I had just gotten suspended. My dad told me to clean the house and wash the dishes and then left for work. He had warned me however that if I was not done by the time he got home he was going to beat me. I laid around in bed expecting him to come home around five. By the time he got home I wasn’t even halfway done. So he called me to the living room and gave me that look, and I just didn’t know whether to run or scream or cry so I just stood there and eventually got the beaten. That was a time that I was literally paralyzed by fear.

Freewrite

I spent prom night with a bearded dragon named “Athena”, I took off with John’s bike and then came home to watch chick flicks by myself. On Friday I tried something new and I didn’t like it and then I watched everyone in my house get ready for prom. I was really annoyed because I felt really crowded in my own home I felt attacked with all these people in the house. Then after everyone left I was kind of bored but then I got over it and that was it.
