In the conflict between Jing-mei and her mother, Jing-mei is right to blow up on her mother about not wanting or trying to be a prodigy. For example, she talks about how wanted to and was even excited about being a prodigy, but her mother out of selfishness pushes her to hard towards that dream, plan, goal, etc. Whatever you want to call it. Therefore she decides not to want to be a prodigy anymore. Every time her mom tries to train her to be some type of prodigy she is bored with it and does not want to try it. One she is pushed to far by no other than her own mother. So she blows up on her because she's tired of it.

“Two Kinds” In the Shoes of a Prodigy

If I was ever expected to become a prodigy, I would be highly upset. I don’t know what type of prodigy people would push me to be. I don’t have the greatest talents. So that might be difficult. I am really not the type of person that wants to be pushed to do something. It makes me so angry when people push me around. After a while of being pushed around I’ll eventually get tired of it and, explode. When I explode it’s really bad. Sometimes it’s so bad to the point where the person I told off, no longer wants to talk to me. When I think about it, though, if it was something that I really wanted, I would do it regardless of the people or the way that they are pushing me towards it.

“My Input for Staff-Teacher Conferences”

My grade in Ms. Priester’s class is not the greatest. I feel like this is because, when I blog or write I want to speak my mind. Knowing myself, I would know that by speaking my mind I’m going to get in to trouble with Ms. Priester. Therefore when I blog for Ms. Priester. I try to not as much emphasis on my posts. Also I’m not so great with blogging. My strength’s in this class would be reading and my creativity. These things come in handy when I am posting certain blogs or making storybird’s for class assignments. The challenges I face in Ms. Priester’s class are that I am easily distracted by everything (Heather Wilson). Blogging is also, once again, a big issue. I feel that in order to earn a higher grade my blogs should be better and I should try hard to focus. I really don’t like adults helps but my morning staff, Jen.
A time were I have had conflict is pretty much all the time. The biggest conflict that I have to deal with. Is dealing with how to say “no” to people. People usually take advantage of me because I cant say no. The reason I cant say no is because I feel like I am going to upset people or hurt their feelings. I am a very sensitive person so I don’t like it when people are mad or upset with me. So saying “no” to people is a huge conflict

Character Analysis of Heather

Heather (girls 6), is the student that I have chosen to write about on this campus. So Heather is a great person, at least for me, to talk to. Heather is very loving and caring even though at times she can be really mean to me. In the end it really doesn’t matter how mad we are at each other because, eventually we end up together again. Heather is like one of my missing quarters; her and I think about the same things and, come up with the same ideas. It’s very strange but at the same time it’s pretty awesome. So those are some of Heather’s traits.

“Everyday Use" Character to Person Comparison Paragraph.”

Jen, our morning staff in girls four, is like the mom in the story. Jen always stands up for us. In the story the mom loves and would do anything for her daughters. Jen treats as we were her own daughters, she’s always advocating for us. Specially me. She’s been through so much throughout her life and still has a strong and caring character. The mom in the story has somewhat of a similarity with this. They have differences though. Jen has a very sarcastic sense of humor 99.9% of the time. It’s really hard to take her seriously unless, were having a one on one conversation. The mom in the story seems serious most of the time.

Everyday Use from Dee's Point of View

My name is Dee I was invited by my mother to come back home so I did but I brought a friend along. When my friend tried to introduce himself to my sister Maggie, she got scared and ran away from him. Maggie is covered with scars. This happened in the last house we lived in. I didn’t like that house much so I did not care about it burning, but my sister was burned too. She has scars and is jealous of the fact that I don’t have any. I grabbed some quilt from a trunk in Maggie’s room and took them mom told me to put them back but I thought that they’d be better off with me. So mom snatched them and gave them back to Maggie. It was my grandma’s tradition to pass those quilts down to the next generation. So in the end I left their home.

“Everyday Use” Before You Read: Traditions and Heirlooms.

I personally didn’t grow up with any traditions, nor did I have family heirlooms. The only tradition we had, was to get together as a whole family every holiday. This tradition was broken though, but if it was up to me, I would’ve kept it going. So maybe when I start a family of my own I’ll decide to make this tradition. The same way it was for me when I was younger. If anything of value to me ever becomes so important that I feel it should be passed on, then it will be. So until then, when something of importance comes up, or, I finally make a family of my own, then I will figure things out about traditions and heirlooms.

9/11 Paragraph

I went around campus asking staff about their feelings towards 9/11. All the people I talked to seem to tell me the same thing. They thought the United States was under attack. I talked to my morning staff, Jen, about it the most. Jen told me that she was at home when she found out. She got a call from a relative telling her that the United States was under attack. Jen tried to wake up her boyfriend, but didn’t succeed, she then got her baby, sat on the couch, and turned the television on. Jen then saw all over how the twin towers were being attacked. She told us how that day was very unusual no one knew what to do that day they just stayed home. That was Jen’s perspective on the 9/11 attacks.

Mouse in the Café Short Story

Once upon a time in a little place called San Pasqual academy lived a mouse up in the “Cyber Café”, his name was “Hairy” and he ate all the food up in the café and to make matters worse, Hairy, left droppings and huge amounts of hair around the food. This was a huge problem for the staff and students.

One fine day, Billy and Boblynn were working up in the café. When all of a sudden Boblynn slipped on a couple of Hairy’s dropping’s. Billy was disgusted by this but still helped Boblynn up from the floor. The day went by as it usually did, but during lunch time a bunch of kids were suddenly barfing everywhere. Everybody was blaming it on the curse of the evil hell master shippalappadingdong. Staff soon realized, however, that there were huge amounts of mouse hair. They were disgusted and were skeptical about what to do with Hairy. The next day came by, it was morning and everybody was great. The staff in the café were ready to cook for the kids and get breakfast ready. When Sebastian Starr opened the refrigerator, he was in shock and disbelief; all of the food was gone or destroyed. Hairy appeared to have eaten all the food or left dropping’s and large amounts of hair on it or near it. Sebastian Starr was in such shock he fainted at the sight of such horrid thing.

The staff in the café had a meeting about Hairy they came to a conclusion. They decided that they would call an exterminator, and put Hairy to sleep.

Hairy heard everything that went on in the meeting. Hairy decided that he would make a getaway plan. Hairy’s plan was to run out into the dumpsters until the exterminator left the café. Then he would successfully go back into the café and continue with his old routine. The day the exterminator came Hairy ran out and jumped into the dumpsters he swam in the garbage for hours he thought it was great. After an hour or so he saw the exterminator leave the café. He went back into the café through his secret passage. The next day Boblynn, Billy, and Sebastian Starr, found hairy taking a deep nap in a pile of shredded cheddar cheese. They cornered him and decided to take him out. Suddenly Hairy woke up and tried to escape but he couldn’t so instead he pleaded to be given another chance.

Hairy and the three staff members had a talk. They all decided that they would give all the scraps of food and leftovers to Hairy and his new home would be the dumpsters where he would be happy. Hairy lived a long and happy life in the dumpsters and got eating by a snake two months later. The End.

Psychiatric Center for Research on Regressive Tendencies.

In my opinion the Psychiatric Center for Research on Regressive Tendencies building must ,most likely, be run by some type of robots. They are supposed to be robots,so as far as I'm concerned, robots don't wear clothes. The way the story is described with robots as cop cars, it's very much likely that there will be robots managing the regressive research center. The building probably looked like an insane asylum from the outside and maybe like a lab with machines on the inside. It may have large rooms with just bed and a robot watching the person at all times. That is my opinion on how the regressive research center would look like.

Purpose of 'The Pedestrian

Ray Bradbury may have written this story thinking that in the future, life would be very simple. This meaning that there just won’t be much to do as he explains in the book with his characters. In the book there is one man though, who acts like people, “From the past” did, and he is stopped by a “cop”. The man is stopped for walking in the street and is called regressive. So Ray Bradbury might have written the story, thinking that in the future, people’s lifestyles may change, tremendously, but in reality they haven’t changed much from before. He also may have written this book on order to try and keep people’s lifestyles the way that they are now or before. Whatever the reason, nothing has really changed and I don’t really expect a lot more change in the future

Life in 2053 – “The Pedestrian” Before You Read.

In 2056 I expect life in America to be the same, but technology will still probably go on strong, and advance. I don’t expect much of a change maybe with economy. We have problems already so it might be even harder in the future or maybe the other way around. Maybe it’ll be an old problem from the past. Even though technology maybe advanced I still don’t believe that there’ll be flying cars or things that fly, other than airplanes! I hope, however, that life in America in the year of 2056 is somewhat easier for people. Economy wise and peace wise it’s horrible that people that shouldn’t be gaining power are gaining power. I hope that in the future this changes and the world can honestly be a better place.
