Poetry Experience Paragraph

I am very excited about studying poetry, because I think it is very interesting and soothing. I think it expresses a lot of emotion and it is very calming. It is also very interesting to read and discuss. I think it would be a lot of fun for the class, and it would interesting to hear everyone’s ideas and opinions about the different types of poems and styles of poetry they are out there. It would also be great for us to learn about different poems and poets. I think it is very important for us to study poetry and learn about the poets or poetry that made or caused an impact in today’s literature. It is important, because I think we should know why certain poems or poets are famous. That is my personal input in studying poetry!

Third Quarter Goals Reflection

My third quarter goals were very positive, but I somehow managed to fall to the same place I was in the beginning. Here I am again however trying to get back to the top and trying really hard to not give up. I have come up with a plan and I think it is a really great plan, but in order to make it happen I have to get to work now so it can pay off later on. I honestly wanted to just give up and not do anything at all anymore, but after a talk with Ms. Priester today I hope I can get my grades up and try harder. Actually I will try harder! One of my main goals in life is to go to UNLV, and I really want to make it happen. So right now I am realizing that in order to make it happen I have to put myself to work now.

Dream House Paragraph with Imagery

I am not exactly sure what my dream house would be like, but I would want it to be warm and welcoming to my guest or visitors. I always wanted a Victorian style home but I am not sure anymore. I want a big two story house with plenty of rooms so when my friends come from far away places they can always stay in a guest room. I want it to be colorful and bright, but it should all match as well. I want it to smell fresh like clean linens, no that’s actually kind of boring! I would want it to smell like colorful beautiful flowers of all sorts and varieties. I would want the outside of my house to seem friendly and charming. I would want a big yard so I can have little or big get together’s with friends. That’s what my dream house would be like.

“A Storm in the Mountains” One with Nature

A time that felt I was one with nature would be a couple of summers ago. My dad took me fishing on the pier of Imperial Beach, and it was around eight at night, but we didn’t mind. We were the only two people fishing. My mother and sister were on the pier, but they were very quiet eating ice cream. Suddenly I cast my fishing pole far into the ocean. The ocean’s current had become very mellow and gentle. It was very soothing and I felt at peace. It was so beautiful I wanted to jump into the ocean from the pier, but my dad warned me not to or else my bones would break. After a while my dad wanted to go home, but I wanted to lie on the pier; listen to the soothing sounds of the sea, and watch the stars twinkling so beautifully in the sky. I will never forget that night, because not only did I feel like I was one with nature, but it was a great and beautiful night.

Memorable Valentine's Day

My most memorable valentine consists of the cops and my best friend’s mom being charged for kidnap. So about three or four years ago it was Valentines Day, and I went on about my usual daily routine. I went to school and did everything I was supposed to. It was Friday and I wanted to go to the movies with some of my friends, but my mom didn’t allow me to and after that she beat me for basically no reason; she was just having a bad day. So I grabbed some clothe and left and went to my best friends house, and her mom called the cops on my mom. When the cops came my mom totally fooled them and cried about how she beat me, because she loves me. The typical story. The cops scolded me and told me to go home with my mom as if it were me who preyed on my mother. On top of that they asked if she wanted to place kidnapping charges on my friend’s mom and she said yes. That’s how that friendship ended, and that was also my most memorable valentines day.

Persuading You to Read a Blog

The freshmen’s blogs should be taken into consideration because they have really good work posted in their blogs. This work that they have should be seen and commented on to make them aware that their upperclassmen check their blogs and enjoy reading them. Another great reason why the freshmen’s blogs should be read is that they may have made mistakes or need to improve something on their page. If a classmate comments and tells them about their mistake it can help them a lot. It is also a great way for them to not feel left out and know that the upperclassmen care about them, and wish them to do well. It is a great way to let them know we admire their work!

Feelings about the CAHSEE

My feelings about the CAHSEE are mixed. I am kind of nervous, but then again I am like really ecstatic for some reason. I think I will do really well in the English section of the CAHSEE, but I don’t know about the math part because I am really horrible when it comes to math. I am really optimistic about it though. I am not being really negative, because I am convinced that if I am negative I will decline my chances of passing the CAHSEE. Right now I am thinking that if I set myself to it then I will probably most likely pass both sections of the test. Overall I think I will do a great job, but until then we will see!

“Where Have You Gone, Charming Billy?” Enlist Paragraph

If I could enlist in the military I would, because it could give me more endurance. I need the endurance, because it is a great skill, life skill. I would also join to be of help to the country and community. I would join the army because it would be beneficial and have many great benefits. If I were in the selective service and was drafted out onto a war, I would not try to dodge it I would just go with the flow and join which ever thing they wanted me to. I wouldn’t dodge it, because I wouldn’t want to have to hide for basically the rest of my life or be found and arrested. I rather just deal with it and have whatever happens, happen.

Primary and Secondary Sources Comparison

A primary source is a story of an events witnessed by a bystander, victim or witness. It may also be an event written by the person who witnessed it or experienced it, such as: a diary, an autobiography, personal essays, editorials or speeches. A secondary source is a magazine article, newspaper articles, encyclopedias, or textbooks. A secondary source is written by someone who did not take part in the events they have begun writing about. One thing that both primary and secondary sources have in common is that they are sources and they both help talk about events and solve or discuss them. Those are also a couple of reasons as to why primary and secondary sources are helpful.
